Vegas DOES support DVCPro, if you already have the codec or if you want to acquire the codec.

I think the reason Vegas doesn't natively support DVCPRO-HD is because Vegas IS a professional application.

Come on now, 100 Mbps HD is not a bad compromise.

I'd take that over 25 Mbps HDV (even though the codec bit rates are not comparable).

It may not be 1.5 Gbps HDCAM SR, but then not everything needs to be the best.

Anyone know how to handle Varicam footage shot with speed ramps?
Anyway to view the tapes and see the speed ramps 'on the day'?
As I understand it, the footage has to be processed in post before you can see what you've shot. The 'client' wanted to view the tapes straight away but I don't think that's doable.
In the end (after lots of expletives) I think he's going back to the tried and true way of doing this, 35mm.
