DVD 4 and 4.5 Burning Issues-Help

Hi Everyone:

I posted this on Vegas Forum by accident, so now I'll post it here. Sorry for double posting.

I have been using Vegas/DVDA since 2004 and have had no issues with either Vegas 4.0 or DVDA 1.0. Last year I upgraded to Vegas 7 and DVDA 4.0 and then just this past September I upgraded again to 8.0 and DVDA 4.5. The problem I am having is that every single time I try to burn a DVD out of DVDA 4.0 or 4.5, I get an error message that states:

'SFMMCX'-(17)
''-(0)
-'TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-H653A D500'-(2)
Module c:\p4\sonic3\release\dvdarchitect\4.5\cddrvs\sfcd\sfmmcx.cpp Line 2269
An illegal request was received.
A specified address is out of range.

I have tried every single different type of blank media such as Ritek, FujiFilm, Sony, Verbatim, Memorex and HP. I’m running a Dell Dimensions E521 computer with a 2 g’s of ram and an internal TSST Corp DVD multi-format burner (came with the computer) as well as a Pioneer external multi-format burner (I get the error message with both). All firmware/drivers and software is up to date. The only way I can ever burn directly out of DVDA is to revert back to DVDA 1.0 all the time. Any suggestions, as this is driving me crazy. I love all the features of 4.0 and 4.5, but I just cannot seem to figure out what the problem may be.

All of my projects are rendered out of Vegas as Mpeg2 and audio is always Dolby Digital AC-3 pro with preprocessing options tab set to Film-Standard for the Line Mode and RF Mode.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Lori J.

I'd suggest searching on " 'SFMMCX'-(17)" ... Using Google got quite a few threads...

Alternatively, many (myself included) prefer to render the DVD to hard drive... There it can be tested, optionally edited, and more than 1 copy burned with more efficiency. The burning itself can be done with programs like Nero, Roxio, ImgBurn, etc.

Thanks MPM, I'll give the google search a try. I actually did get a good burn by taking the prepared files over to Nero. So until I get this resolved, if I don't want to have to revert back to DVD-A 1.0, I'll use the work-around in Nero.

Thanks again,
