DVD-A Back to menu after chapter??

Is it possible in DVD-A to have a button link to a specific chapter in a video, then after that chapter plays have it go back to the main menu? I can't seem to find a way to do it, just wondering if it's possible. We basically have one long video that has many chapter points, and after each chapter plays we want to go back to the main menu.

Possible, and quite easy (easier than it sounds)

Essentially, you do this:

Drop your source file on, into the project and set it up to play normally.
(start to finish witht the entire source, if that is your inclination)
If you do not want it to play the whole thing, then ignore this step and simply go to the next step..

Then you drop your source file into your project mutiple times - once for every chapter.
For each occurance of the source
You then modify the in and out points (giving you chapters) - then set the end action to return to menu

See can end actions do this in the DVDA forum.

...actually, you don't have to drop the source file in multiple times....just copy it once you are in DVDA. You can either select it, edit|copy|paste....or select it and hold your control button down and drag it.

This will create a copy.

Then, double click it to open it....and reset the in/out points.

Same thing as Express said - without having to drop in the project over and over.

So if you import the same file multiple times, it won't increase the file size on the disc? For example if I have a hour long video, and I import the video 10 times and set it up for the 10 diffrent chapter points using the method described above, the final size of the disc will only be as big as the 1 video and not 10 videos combined? I know some programs like maestro and Studio pro can do this.

Copy and paste/ drag and drop - accomplish the same thing, and... to each his own.

It will not increase the size of the DVD.

You could have dozens for even 100's of occurances - each following different paths - and it will not duplicate the material which is put on the DVD.
Allowing you to have paths that show, for example:
All chapters.
Chapters 1,2, 5, 10
Ch 2,1,5,9,7,10
each individual chapter and return (as your post indicates)
.... for as many paths as you desire.

You can create recursive end-actions too.

For example - I created a photo montoge for a wedding.
I actually created two versions of it.

I created one disc which plays
version a continually or
version b continually or
version a, b, a, b, a, b..... continuously.

Version a and b each were on the disc only once.

The final DVD from the wedding has some 'out-takes'
They can be viewed one-at-a-time, or all-at-once.
The material is on the disc only once.
(similar to the 'deleted scenes' functionality on many commercial DVD's)

Thanks guys, if only I had thought of doing this project in DVD-A a week ago it would have saved a lot of time :)
