It could be any number of things.

It could be you're using an outdated version of Quicktime. (Apple updates it at least once a month.)

It could be you have a corrupt font.

It could be a RAM issue. Or lack of RAM or defragmented space on your hard drive.

It could be that your operating system is missing a non-critical update.

In short, without knowing your system, it's hard to say.

it seems to happen when I have Movie Studio open...I guess I shouldn't do that :)
