DVD Architect 2.0 differences

I just bought Vegas Movie Studio and then upgraded immedialtey to Vegas 5.0. This was cheaper than buying Vegas 5.0 straight out and I get the cut down version of DVDA 2! However, can anyone tell me what the differences are between the DVDA that ships with Movie Studio and the full version that ships with Vegas+DVD?

Thanks

Noticing one of the differences is "Fit to disk compression". What does this mean? If I have 4.8 gig worth of media, will it compress it to fit on a 4.7 gig disk??? Is it a feature you can toggle on and off?

Yes, if you have too much to fit on the disk, DVDA will reduce the bitrate to fit everything on the disk. You simmply go to the optimize screen and click the button.

I find this very useful for quick and dirty "put it in and it plays" stuff where I go right from AVI to DVD. If I'm going to have complex menus (or anything complex, since DVDA isn't always the best at estimating project sizes) I start thinking about things in terms of time rather than size and use a bitrate calculator (or table) to come up with the bitrate that I use when I render from Vegas.

I'd personally try to avoid using this option when dealing with MPEG as the source material, since DVDA would then need to decompress and recompress the video - takes time, and it effectively puts you one additional generation away from the source.

Time isn't an issue - I usually set it to do a long task, then go off to work. But does an "optimized" DVD lack any quality that a "non-optimized" would have?

I meant time in terms of the playing time of the material I have.

If you re-render an MPEG, then yes, you will lose quality.
