DVD Architect 4.0 stretched menu.

Editing with Sony Pro 8.0c. The files on the time line are DV .AVI 4x3.

I render my project out as mpg-2 4x3.

I then bring the mpg-2 into DVD Architect 4.0 using a 4x3 template.

If I play the DVD on a analog 4x3 TV everything plays back in 4x3
including the menu and nothing is stretched or letter boxed, just the way I want it.

Now if I play the same DVD in my HDTV the program plays in 4x3 with black on each side just the way I want it but the menu is stretch out to 16x9.

I want the menu to play in 4x3 with black on the sides when playing it on a HDTV.

By the way if I preview my work in DVD Architect the menu and show play in 4x3 regardless if I use a 4x3 or 16x9 setting in DVD Architect preview window.

It sounds as though you have the Project Properties set to widescreen (File>Properties>Video Format).

Wouldn't it play letterboxed on the 4:3 television then? He said it plays correctly there.

I think it's just his DVD player or HD television that's stretching the menu. If that's the case, there's nothing more that can be done in DVDA.

DVD player/TV could be stretching it automatically. That's what it sounds like to me.
