hi;

I had an installation error when the MS support files were being dl'd.
It was a 1601 error. My software seemed okay as I have a new start icon for it, but it is not taking my serial numbers for DVD A 5.0.

Then it said to use the phone purchase option and put the serial numbers in there and the program still did not take the serial numbers. Then it said I should call Sony support numbers.

Which I will do.

Not much help otherwise.
Thanks,
Bill

error 1601 info: The Windows Installer service could not be accessed. Contact your support personnel to verify that the Windows Installer service is properly registered.

Well I do have a valid copy of win XP not sure what is going on. I researched this message on Google btw.

For the 1603 code it just said "A fatal error occurred during installation."
