DVD Architect corrupts AVI files???

I've a big problem with DVD Architect. As as also had some problems with Sony Vegas 8.1 64bit version, I installed Vegas 9.0c version. When I render file to avi pal dv widescreen everything goes great, after rendering I can open and play the file but... When I want to import file to DVD Architect I force some problems... After importing file (rendered in Vegas 9.0c 64 bit) Architect crashes (doesn't respond) and when I close it or it closes by itself... I can't import avi file again - program says that it is not a requested type and what is more - I CAN'T EVEN PLAY THIS FILE IN ANY PLAYER LIKE NERO OR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER!!!System says that file is broken despite that few minutes earlier I was able to open it with no problems.
What causes this problem? I want also add taht this is not the first time - every time I render file in vegas 9.0c 64 bit and try to import file to dvd architect the same situation happens. I don't have such problems after rendering in vegas 8.0c 32 bit.
Maybe someone also had silimar problem and found a solution?
Thanks

if you're rendering for dvda, render video only to mainconcept mpeg-2 - deselect audio in the audio tab. render the audio only to dolby-digital ac3.

the files will import into dvda without problems.

Try making the files Read Only.
If what you're implying is actually happening that's a very serious bug and needs to be reported and fixed.

Do as suggested. Sony Support sent me the same recommendation (render first to MPG2 and AC-3) before importing to DA5.

I had the same problem as you in which DVD's made from avi files would not open or play elsewhere. Even though the advertising says that DA5 works with many files, including avi, there is a bug in later versions apparently.

By the way, the suggested workaround works ok.

it's not really a workaround, it's the way you're supposed to do it - give dvda files that it does not have to rcompress.

use vegas to render/encode, you'll get best quality that way.

Negatory.
It is an acknowledged , reproducible bug in later builds by Sony. Using exactly the same avi file from Vegas in a prior DA 5 build it makes perfect, high quality DVD's that play in all tested players. The latest DA5 builds do not make usable DVD's from avi.

Sony's words: ".....even though DA5 can handle many file formats, including avi, it is recommended to render to MPG2 and AC3 in Vegas..." This does not make better DVD's, it just goes around the bug.
