DVD Architect won't load and gives the following message.
Error Code 0x8004e00a, Startup Code :2.
I had exactly the same problem when I upgraded Vegas to include DVD Architect. I tried the recommended workaround of setting up a new user account. The software worked ok in the new account but still would not function in my main account.
Solution. - Recommended by e:mail support.
Run regedit. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > software sonic foundry. Right click on the sonic foundry box and select permissions. Select the main user administrator account and make sure that both boxes are ticked (full control) & (read). Close regedit and rerun the software.
This fixed the following three problems for me
1. DVD Architect would not load
2. Vegas not saving preferences
3. Vegas video fx menu not working correctly.
Don't try this unless you are familiar with editing the registry. For me it fixed the problem in 5 minutes that had been bugging me for a week.
