I have to use the LAME Power Producer Cyberlink S/W to get this working...
Why can't sony computer sys bundle their own software with their drives? Crappy Authoring S/W with a Self-Destruct for otherwise Awesome Sony PRO Software products? I thought a BLu-Ray drive would warrant NON desctructive software....
I can't even reposition the video to the right side of the screen....

The DARN drive is uncompatible with any version of DVD-A!!!!!!!!
IT HANGS THE SOFTWARE at write time "ping" of the drive status....
Is there a firmware update for the BW-100 drive?
Wow, I didn't expect this kind of incompatibility with Sony S/W and H/W.
A $59 low end DVD-R never had that trouble, why should a $750 BD-DVD have trouble!!! Sheesh!!! I disconnected the BD-R and "No Crash!!".
Anyway, I hope this post helps others with the issues they may have...
Just disconnect the BD and all is well......

Sony DVD Architect

Ha! DVDA 1.0 was barely reliable with the drives that were already around when it was released. I sure wouldn't expect it to work with a new drive, let alone a Blu-Ray. ;)

Why can't sony computer sys bundle their own software with their drives?

Because "they" are two completely different companies, each of which has its own interests and its own promotional partnerships to keep up. Well, Sony Electronics does, at least.

A $59 low end DVD-R never had that trouble, why should a $750 BD-DVD have trouble!!

Because it's new technology, for one. New technology always has its kinks, and it's the early adopters that get to suffer through them. As for a firmware update, well, you'd have to check the Sony Computers website for that. ;-)

As for what's going wrong with your set-up in particular, that's hard to tell. Give us some details and maybe someone can help:

What kind of discs were you using in DVDA? Brand, type, speed, and number of layers?

How was the Blu-Ray drive connected?

Do you have any other drives connected and if so how many, how are they connected, and are any of them in a master/slave configuration?
