DVD Architect not seeing burner

Ive got my external Sony DVD writer connected to my PC by USB (the firewire connection doesnt seem to work), and the computer recognises it. But DVD Architect does not allow it to be chosen as a device for burning my DVD. I think the DVD writer has the same SCSI ID as my plexwriter: could this be the cause of the problem?

I had that happen once. I just shut the program down and restarted it, then everything was ok.

Is it USB2 and functioning correctly? If it's USB1, it is not fast enough to do burning to DVD, perhaps that is why it is not showing up. Just a guess.....
