DVD Architect problems...

I did manage to use Vegas Movie Studio to put together a slide show with audio track that I really like. The problem is that I can't get it burned onto a DVD. After I do the rendering, I lose all but the first 3 seconds of the audio. There are lots of photos in the slide show... about 300 of 'em. Perhaps this is too many....? I didn't burn it to a DVD since it didn't preview with sound intact.

My son tried something different... not sure what, but rendering took 3 hours (it took me about 54 minutes). He burned it onto a DVD, but the playback on TV looked horrid. There were patches of the screen that were something that's not the photos. And it moved around to different places. Sometimes it stretches across the screen, other times it's just in little squares or rectangles. I'm hoping I don't have to buy other software to burn the DVD!

My son built me a new computer last month and saw to it that I had plenty of processing power, memory and storage for my photo work.

Any clues as to what the problem could be with DVD Architect? Any help anybody can provide would be appreciated.
Judy

Make sure you are running the latest version of DVDA Studio - the audio dropout problem you describe is a known problem with the version that ships to customers - you can download the update by clicking on the downloads link at the top of the page. Make sure you get the update for Vegas Movie Studio/DVD Arch Studio - you DO NOT want the update for DVD Arch (the big brother to DVDAS).

Thx Scott. I will look for the download.

Why do they name two different products with names so similar???

I appreciate the help from this forum. Please bear with me as I try to work through my frustrations with this project. I'm back to square one... I first need to confirm what software I've bought.

Now, Scott's info was very helpful that there are 2 different products, one name DVD Architect and another altogether different product named DVD Architect Studio. I need to confirm which it is that I have.

The product I've bought is named on the box, "Vegas Movie Studio + DVD - Video Editing and DVD Creation Software", which cost about $100. It doesn't say anywhere in this title that this is really called "DVD Architect Studio". BUT... if that is what I have,
Scott says the update I need is for "Vegas Movie Studio/DVD Architech Studio", and not "DVD Architect". (This is still correct..?)

So the update page I'm looking at is http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/download/step1.asp?CatID=2 .

I don't see on the list an update for VEGAS MOVIE STUDIO/DVD ARCHITECT STUDIO. The list of updates includes DVD Architect Update 1.0d, DVD Architect Update 3.0b, and Vegas Movie Studio Update 4.0a. Per Scott's post, the ones for "DVD Architect" are the wrong ones. So am I looking in the wrong place for the update for "Vegas Movie Studio/DVD Architect Studio"???

I guess I have Sony to thank for their confusing product names! Couldn't they foresee the confusion they were causing???? Yeesh!!! Thanks for any help to get me past this step.

Now I did buy the book, "Instant Vegas Movie Studio + DVD". I looked and yup, it matches the title on the software box, with the word "Instant" added.

I believe the DVDAS update is included in the Vegas Movie Studio Update (sorry, I can't be more helpful, I don't own VMS, I own Vegas and DVDA - the big brothers).

This is the update you need.

Sony use the" Studio" Designation for the "baby brother" products.
However Vegas Studio and DVD Architect "Studio" are rolled into one product so there is no seperate Architect "Studio"
