DVD Architect Studio and DVD burning

I'm just starting up with the Vegas Studio Architect and I tried to create a tiny DVD from a small clip.

In DVD Architect Studio, when I "Make DVD", in one window the program ask for the "Device:" to use to burn the DVD.

In my situation, the only available option is "ISO Image Writer" which create an ISO file instead of burning the physical DVD media. On that same computer I have Nero 7 Ultra Edition and I have no problem writing to the "NEC DVD +-RW ND 3530A" drive.

Why does DVD Architect Studio cannot use/see the physical DVD writer drive on my system?

Make sure you do not have any packet writing software running in the background, such as DirectCD or InCD. If you need to disable these items from starting, you can go to Start-->Run-->msconfig and use the Startup tab to disable them (note that the msconfig utility is not included with Windows 2000 and you may need to uninstall the packet writing software).

If your drive is not being detected by the program, try starting the program without a blank disc in the drive. If you are using an internal IDE burner then make sure you are running the latest drivers for the IDE controller on your motherboard. Be sure that the drive is jumpered as Master, and not as Cable Select. If you are using an external drive which features both a USB and Firewire connection, then try switching to the other connection type and burning again.
