DVD Architect (or any other DVD authoring software for that matter) needs a file rendered using MPEG2 ... if I'm not mistaken. Don't you have the MPEG option?

Yes but I read in the manual that there should be a export to DVDArctect directly

i also was under the impression that you could output directly to architect or something like that...

i recently rendered a file in vegas using the mgeg2 option...I then inserted the file manually into dvd architect, and during the "prepare" phase of making the dvd, it required recompression...I was under the impression that once rendered as mpeg2, then it wouldn't need recompression...

When you render your file as a "Main Concept MPEG 2" file, in the template dropdown menu, toward the bottom, are different DVDA templates. Choose the template that best matches your project, and then render the file.

Following that, you'll need to render the file again, as a "Dolby Digital AC-3" file, for the audio portion. You can render it as a Stereo DVD file or a 5.1 DVD file, depending on how many channels of audio you have. This render doesn't take very long (a minute or two, depending on length of project).

If the two rendered files are in the same folder and have the same name with a different file extension (movie.mpg & movie.ac3), DVD Arch will automatically pair them together in the project.

When you select MPEG-2 as the file type there are six different "special" DVD Architect templates. Click on the little arrow right of the template box once you click render as and have preselected MPEG-2 as file type.
