DVD Burned But Wont Play

Burned first DVD, played fine but wanted to make some changes to the layout. Made the changes, saved, burnt the DVD. The second copy was the exact same as the first, changes didn't show up.

Changed the temp directory thinking this may force it to re-write the disk info. Burnt the third DVD and it wont play on either my DVD player or computer. It is showing up labled in " My Computer " and does have files on it, but wont play.

Any guess before I wast more DVD's ?

Make sure that your new version is stored in a different directory, and that when you go to burn the DVD, that you specify the new directory. DVDA always defaults to the location where your last DVD was prepared.

By specify, you do mean in Properties right ? If so, yea, its set to the new directory.

If you make changes to the layout, you have to do a complete preparation and render. When you burn you have to be sure to point to the file where the prepared and rendered files are. You must make sure that the files are in a new folder, so they only contain the files for the present version. It's also a good idea to get a couple of RW discs for testling so you dont make too many coasters before you have the process worked out.

One of the catches I have found when making changes things don't get done fully. The best way to do it is;
1. If changes are made to the video rerender
2. Rerender any changes to the intro media or menu background.
3. Delete all media and replace them with either the changes or replace them with the old media.
4. Preview All
5. Create a new folder with a totally new name.
5. Prepare
6. Check the Video TS files for accuracy.
7. Burn to RW
8. If all ok burn the final product
