DVD burners not approved by Sony

I bought a DVD burner and realized that Sony has a compatability list of burners to work with DVD Architect. Has anybody on here sucessfully burned DVD's with non-approved burners. My burner is an Optorite 203 DVD +/- 4x. Just wondering if it might work or if I should take it back.

I have a Plextor PX-708A that was not on the compatibility list for DVDA1. I used DVDA to "Prepare" the files, and then switched to Roxio's Creator(bundled with the drive) to burn the DVD. I researched ISO and UDF formats, but it just all boiled down to copying the audio_ts and video_ts folders.

I have the Plextor 708A and have burned DVDs with no problems. I use +RW media.
