dvd burning

Last night I burned a DVD with no problems. When I went to burn another copy, a box came up and said "Retrieving media info, please wait". I waited for two hours and nothing happend. I started over and it did the same thing. Any ideas?

Could be there was a problem with the disc - maybe try another disc?

Thanks alot! You were right! I have been using DVD -R and this time I used a DVD +R. that did not work i have a sony vaio
pcv-rs320 would it be my dvd drive?

Just did a google for your vaio: some say it includes " a 2x DVD-RW burner " which could indicate it only burns ' - ' discs opposed to a ' + - ' burner.
But to make sure check your windows system for the drive or perhaps manual to find out which dvd burner is in your vaio and what discs are supported
