DVD Burning Problem

I know, I know, it is an older version (1.0d) but it's all I need. I have been using it since it was new with no problems but I have recently run into a problem burning DVDs. The store replaced the DVD burner (under warranty) thinking this was the issue and am able to burn data disc using Nero so the burner is good.

When I burn a DVD it says that the burn completed without errors but when I put it in DVD players it doesn't play. I am really stumped on this one since I have not changed anything in Vegas (4.0e) or DVD Architect. I am wondering if XP SP3 is the problem?

I have also had an issue with Vegas recognizing the camera when I want to capture. The PC recognizes it when I plug it in but when I go to capture it cannot find it. I then shut the PC down with the camera still plugged in and upon restart it sees it and I can capture. Never had a problem with any of this before now.

Can anyone give me a heads up on this problem? I think I will uninstall SP3 and see what happens.

Please help me if you can. Thank you.

EDIT: I uninstalled SP3 and have the same results as before. I have re-installed Vegas and DVD Architect and have the same results. When I uninstall, should I also delete anything else and then re-install them? I am grasping here fellas and out of ideas. Thanks.

I re-installed both Vegas and DVD Arch. This took care of my camera problem but I am still having a problem burning DVDs. It says that it burned to DVD with no errors but they will not play. I have used different DVDs with no luck.

This is the same project I was burning without problems a week ago. The burner has been replaced (new). I can burn a data DVD using Nero. The DVD looks like it has been burned.

I am stumped. Any help PLEASE.

I have had this problem in the past. The fact that the burner can write data does not seem to guarantee that it can do DVDs. My problem was solved by replacing the burner.
