DVD Burning Question...

Anyone using Ulead Moviefactory2 please answer if you can.

I made a mpeg movie using Sonic Video Factory 2. It is 1.4 megs in size. Using Ulead MF2, I try to burn a DVD of it. At the onset, it tells me that the required DVD space is 4.2 gig and the available DVD space is 4.4 gigs (what happened to 4.7?). So that means I should have room. Right?

Yet after 4 hours of waiting for it to burn, it tells me that there is insufficient space on the DVD. Does anyone know why this happens? Does anyone know what the REAL available DVD size is?? Why do they give you these figures of 4.2 and 4.4 if they mean nothing?

Thanks in advance!

I use DVD MovieFactory 2 all the time and have never seen this problem. Are you sure you’re using the DVD NTSC (or PAL) template when you rendered your MPEG2 file?. That would require you to purchase the MPEG2 upgrade. DVD MovieFactory 2 accepts my MPEG2 files just fine and burns them fairly quickly. Check to make sure the MPEG file you’re making is DVD compliant file.

I would NOT try to burn at first. Just have it make the directory structure on your hard drive and see if that works. That shouldn’t take too long. Then you could always burn that directory to a DVD with any burning program (probably the one that came with your DVD burner)
