I assume you meant "after the DVD was burnt". Yes, that's right. You could have more than one button on the DVD and the person watching it needs to know which button is selected.
I know exactly what the problem is, because I got it all the time with the default DVDA template. You won't see the highlights on the project screen in the middle, so if you're not careful, you'll burn the DVD and then discover that when you move from one menu item to another, there is this horrible yellow on blue that highlights the button or text. Even worse when you press the button the remote to select the DVD button.
The solution, first of all is to ALWAYS preview EVERY menu using DVDA's preview button before you burn a DVD. Second, to change the highlight, first click on the problem menu, and then on the right side of DVDA, select "Color Sets." Change all four colors for Color Set 1. To do this, double-click on the first color area, and then use the color chooser to select a hue that looks better. DON'T change the intensity slider. Before you click on OK, click on the "Add to Custom Colors" button. Then, do the same thing for the three remaining colors in the first color set, except this time you can select exactly the same color from the Custom Colors section. Again, don't change the intensity slider (you'll notice that the color is the same for each set, but the intensity is lighter -- the lighter shades are used for highlights and the darker for selection).
Sometimes you have to change Color Set 2 as well (it depends on the theme).
I don't know why the default theme has such ugly highlights, but such things are a matter of personal taste, so perhaps it is really beautiful.
