Did you copy or move the rendered MPEG files? The chapter points are actually held in a separate .SFL file. That must be moved or copied as well.
If you have lost this file, but you still have exactly the same Vegas project that was used to render the MPEG, you can use this script to recreated the SFL files instantly, without having to re-render the MPEG:
No "." and no markers. Just rerendered everything and brought it in and they are not there. Hit the " reload markes " button on the timeline and nothing. And yes, save markers was checked when rendering.
John - Not sure whatcha ment by " video asset ", is taht the reload markes button I just mentioned ?
SonyEPM, here's the rundown just so you understand my workflow:
I have all the clips I want in one timeline, all the chapters are there and labled. I render this out as one AVI with " Save Project Markers In Media File " checked. I open this fully rendered avi in Vegas. All the chapters are visible green lines on the timeline but I don't see any " Titles " for the chapters, the lines would indicate that they are there though. I then render it as "MPEG2 / DVD Architect NTSC Video Stream ", again with " Save Project Markers In Media File " checked. I then render out the AC3.
When bringing it into DVDA no green lines or chapter markers show up at all.
When you render it to MPEG2 in Vegas - I think that's when you need to insert markers along the timeline along with their names. Then the MPEG 2 file will carry these as Chapters into DVDA.
If, however, you import your current AVI straight into DVDA, the Chapters should come through ok when you add a Scene Selection Menu .... then the MPEG2 encoding will be done in DVDA.
In other words, the Timeline Markers with their names have to be there when you render whatever you're going to import into DVDA.
Markers and regions from a Vegas project can be saved with a rendered file. However, markers from source files are not passed through to a newly rendered file.
At this point you could
a) open the rendered MPEG file in the Vegas trimmer, create new markers, save the markers, reload the file in DVDA.
b) load the original project from which you previously created the mpeg, create new project level markers based on the markers in the source files, then re-render the MPEG.
