DVD compilation

I need to make a presentation with music of a couple of different clips from a dvd. What format does the video clip (from the dvd) have to be in for MovieStudio to work with it? I have recoded a clip to MPEG4 but MovieStudio doesn't accept that.

MPEG2 is the standard format for all DVDs.

on the dvd the files are in the vob extension. If you copy to your computer you need to rename the .vob files to .mpeg. Hope this helps

Did this DVD come directly from one of the new vidcams that record directly to DVD? If so, you might want to check some of the other threads here that discuss some of the problems with working with these files.
