DVD copy software

What software options do we have that gives us control over copy protection on our own discs? i'm having a hell of a bad time trying to copy one of my own DVDs, all the software packages I try think I'm tring to steal a copy of "Kangaroo Jack." I looked at DVD X Copy, but it puts watermarks on the discs so they can't be copied more than once. I'd rather not have any copy protection on my discs.
BTW, I'm about to buy Nero 6. Does it have the ability to defeat copy protection? I can't find any info on that...

AS far as I know the only way to apply CSS copy protection is during pressing so I doubt you've copy protected your DVD.

I have "RecordNow DX" from Veritas, it'll copy DVDs that don't have CSS, in fact it'll copy from one reader to mulitple DVD burners. Don't know where you buy it, my copy came with my Sony burner but I imagine a web search will soon find it.

doom9.org and dvdrhelp.com have plenty of guides including the software to use.

There are really several methods, but personally I'd try DVDShrink, which contrary to what the name implies, will do a one to one.

Your own disc? Do you have the original source material that you used to create this DVD? If so, just render and burn a version without copy protection.

Or do you mean this is a commercial DVD of which you want to make a backup copy? If that's the case then i wouldn't worry about the copy protection. Simply copy all the files to a folder on your hard drive, then burn a new data DVD from this folder. It will still be copy protected, but it will be a copy of the original that will work just as well.
