DVD -> DVD Correction: m2v instead of dv2

I type it again:
I have a DVD of ESC I got from a friend of mine. I would like to "re-do" it with menus and chapters etc. I have ripped the vobs and with different methods convert them.
It is a 3 hour long show so it is actually 4 vobs.
I want to create my new compilation in DVDA because you have more choices than other programs such as Movie Factory and Dazzle DVD Complete, but here is my problem:
If I in Movie Factory make one mpeg2 out of the vobs the file is over 4 gbs and the sound is in AC-3 which then does not work in DVDA unless it is a single file and you drag and drop it. Also since the file is so big it is almost impossible to work with! (setting chapters etc).
Should I start over with ripping the vobs. Extract the m2v and ac-3 in in eg. Vobedit? But then DVDA does not take m2v!

What am I to do??
