DVD expands in size

I'm duplicating a family movie DVD for a friend of the family.
In V8, I import as file>import>camcorder disk. The 20 vts files are 2 hours on the timeline but only 4 GB total. I render to DVDA and they become over 5 GB.
What am I doing wrong and how can I duplicate this thing onto one 4.7 GB disk?
Thanks very much,
Randy

IF you are just trying to duplicate the disk, use Nero or Imgburn to copy it.

If you are trying to author it, then chances are you are using a higher bitrate than the original, which is causing a bigger file.

Reduce the average bitrate in mpeg-2 render settings ( eg.4500)

you can even calculate what bitrate you will need:

http://www.videohelp.com/calc.htm

or maybe you have choosen PCM instead of AC-3 in DVDA for Audio

btw: If you just duplicating the disc with no editing use Nero, or any other DVD Burner! much faster!
