dvd file to vegas editing??

hello all,
i have to edit something that i have the dvd copy, i never worked with something like this, i do caprure my footage from my minidv and then edit, but this time i have in a dvd, is there any way i can take the file in vegas 4 and edit it? and can put back in minidv tape? please suggestion.

Wow, I think this sets a record: There are at least four separate threads about this subject on the first page of the forum. At the risk of irritating those at Sony ... aw, heck, I don't think they need me to tell them anymore how important this is.
