dvd has "lines" in it

Hi everyone,

I imported a quicktime reference video into DVDA and let it encode it (8500 bit rate). 2 problems occur when I play it on TV.

1. There are tones of horizontal lines on the video that come and go
2. the title colors (i chose 100% red) are dull and jittery

any help would be greatly appreciated...i spent so many hours building this menu and now its unusable ...

A couple of suggestions. Try re-encoding it with another program like Vegas using separate audio and video streams. If that isn't possible, try using DVDA again and lower the bitrate to 6000. For the titles, don't use pure red. Change the tone by adding a little white to it and put a drop-shadow behind it.

one other suggestion since I just ran into this not too long ago - with the clip on the Vegas timeline, open up the clip properties and select "reduce interlace flicker"

Then try rendering just a small problem section to see if that helps.
