DVD Import dropping frames

Hi all. I'm working with Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum. We have several of DVD's that we need to import, edit and post to our website. (These are not commercial DVD).

Using "Import DVD Camcorder Disk" works find EXCEPT ...
1. It splits the DVD into chapters and
2. Drops audio and video at the end (possibly beginning) of each chapter.

This makes the import unusable.

Is there ANY way to
1. Import 1 contiguous file (or one long file with no breaks)?
2. Set an in and out point for the import?

Thanks!

hm... try this. First copy the whole dvd to your hard drive, and then 'import' into Vegas.

This is a major failing in the DVD import function in Vegas. It really needs to have the option to import the entire disc as a single file, perhaps dropping markers at chapter breaks.

One of the "John"s over in the Vegas Pro forum has often posted his method for importing DVDs (sorry, i don't have time to search for it at the moment). It involves ripping the DVD into MPEG files through another program such as DVD Decrypter, then adding these files to the timeline.

Personally i just capture DVDs through an analog->DV converter the same way i capture analog video tapes.
