DVD Mastering

I'm creating a DVD that will be (more or less) mass produced. It's just a How-To video that the client plans to sell.
I'm set up to do the shooting, editing and finishing of the project, and can even create the DVD, thanks to Vegas + DVDA.
I just did a search here for any tips on mastering the DVD for mass duplication and didn't find anything other than a reference to a DLT or Glass Master.
Is there anything I should know or do for this kind of project?
Thanks much.

There is nothing that you can really do to prepare it except check and double check the disc to make sure everything works.
Then you will have to find a replicator to replicate your discs. A lot of them these days will accept your master on a DVD-R disc, but some still require a DLT which is basically a image of your DVD put on a tape. IF you don't have access to a DLT drive then you will have to find a replicator that will accept DVD-R discs. Now that I think of it I'm not even sure DVD-A can write to DLT's. Anyways, the replicator will then take your master and make what is called a glass master. They then take that glass master and press out your DVD's. Depending on how many copies you are having replicated they will sometimes waive the glass mastering charge.

You also have to decide if your disc will be duplicated (burned) or replicated which is the glass mastering process I described above.

It depends on what you mean by "mass produced".

If it's a thousand or more you will get it replicated (see Jsnkcs post above).
In smaller quantities you will be getting it duplicated onto DVD-R or DVD+R.

DVD Archietect CANNOT write to DLT.

Thanks guys.
The client already has a dup house. I'll have to ask them if they can take a DVD-/+R (I have the A06).
I appereciate the info. Now I kind of understand the dif between "glass master" and DLT.
