DVD Mpeg2s - Render separately or in entirety?

Hi all... new here.
Probably a stupid question... Having so many splits in my 1 hour long seminar video, I decided to render separate sections as chapters, as I saw made sense, into MPEG2's, then use those in DVDA. I feared Architect would pick up too many "chapters" (are these called markers??) automatically...
The issue is when I play back the DVD on a player to a TV, the video stops between chapters (mpeg2's now being VOBs) for about 5 seconds before continuing on to the next file.
However, when the disc is played back on a PC, the selections play uninterrupted, as they should. Why isn't that working on a DVD player the same way?
Perhaps avoiding some auto feature in DVDA, I instead created more work for myself. Might I need to go back and render the whole project as one file after all? Or is there a way to adjust the separate files in DVDA to play continuously/ seemlessly? I'm hoping so, as sometimes one may need to add various unrelated mpeg2 projects into a DVDA menu to make a disc (DVD movie, not a data file disc).
I am using Pro 9.0 and the DVDA associated with it on an XP system.
Thanks,
Ron

Render one edited mpeg-2 file in Vegas. You will be able to assign chapters as markers. Adding separate files in DVDA (which are really separate titles, not chapters) is "not' the way to go.

If you include all your mpegs in an Audio/Video Compilation they will play continuously.

If you put markers where you want chapters to start, and no where else, then DVDA will use these markers as chapter points. What "too many" others would you have?

Even so, once in DVDA you can add/delete/move markers around to your liking.

Thanks to you both. I obviously misunderstood the PDF file explanation and thought the files had to be rendered all separately... which was weird logically, but again, one would think there should be a way... such as the compilation suggestion. Thanks for that.
For what chapters I meant might automatically appear, I assumed if there were splits (cuts) in the actual project, that those would be picked up as markers... I am obviously not well-versed yet and ought to read the PDF file thoroughly to find out how to insert markers in the exact places. That said, I also felt rendering smaller files would just take less time... no problem, as I will study further how to be more adept.
Thanks again for answering me so quickly. I have switched several video editing and DVD softwares that I have gotten sloppy in judgement... BTW, I actually enjoy using Sony Vegas Pro 9 and it looks to be my main program now.

I perhaps should have added that if you make a compilation from your short mpegs DVDA will automatically create a chapter point at each junction. You can either ignore these or create a chapter menu, so that users can start at any chosen point. You can't edit or add to those chapter points though.
