I'm scratching my head about this one. I've made several copies (trying to get it right) of a dvd with homemovies, edited in VMS6. I've used dvd+rw and dvd+r media, but the behaviour is very erratic. One plays without problems, another doesn't even load, another will show the menu, but won't play. I've tried different themes, re-prepared etc.

I'm desparate, so I ask for your opinion:
1) is my Medion dvd player the cause of it? Dust and hair? Other dvds on the same media types, play excellent.
2) Should I tweak some DVDAStudio settings to optimize playback?

I'm a newbie, so please be patient with me!

EDIT:
I opened my 8 months old dvdplayer (and by doing this lost my warranty) and cleaned the reader's lens with cotton, and removed the astonishing amount of dust. Now the lens is shiny blue again, and I can play any format dvd. Problem solved!
