DVD Players

I've created a movie using both Easy CD Creator 5 and NERO 5.5. Some DVD players will play the rendered movie, some will not. Can anyone tell me why some DVD units will play the movie and some will not. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the age of the player, one unit that's less than a year old won't play the movie - won't even recognize that there is anything on the CD - and another unit that is over two years old plays the movie every time.

Visit http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php
for a comprehensive list of DVD players which gives information on what type media they play, max bitrate, etc.. If you leave the search field blank and click on sort by alphabetical, you'll get the whole list of 700+ models.

Several issues. Not all DVD players can read all brands of media because the coatings are different from brand to brand. Some of the higher priced models of DVD players do worse than less expensive models from the same manufacturer. Some can only read CD-RW and not CD-R. Of course you must encode to either the NTSC or PAL specifications unless your DVD players supports X(S)VCD which allows you to increase the bitrate.

Video Factory has a Video CD template. If you want to encode to SVCD you'll need to do further processing with another application.
