DVD players can't read my work...

I have a question. The DVD's that I burned can be read by any computer via DVD drives. However, I tested a DVD and none of the DVD players tested could read it.

Is there something important that I should specify when I burn the DVD or what? I used Nero to burn the Audio and Video folders. Also I use DVD+R disks.

Thanks for your help.

I am told that the DVD's can be read from playstation 2. So it is pretty strange.

Selecting burn from DVD-A is really different than coping the Audio_TS and Video_TS directories using Nero?

Thanks for your help.

Is this a question? If so, I found that the answer is yes. Some of my test DVD players did not play the Nero version while they did play the DVDA version.

Background: I was testing with the DVDA demo (no $$ to buy it yet, sadly). Since Nero has a verify feature (it reads the DVD back and verifies it was written correctly), and DVDA provides inaccurate estimates of the final size (the mpegs did not have accompanying ac3 audio files). I preferred to use Nero. I found 3 out of 10 DVD test players did not read the Nero version. Initially I thought it was a bad disc, since I was using cheapo CircuitCity brand. Bought FujiFilm+R and had the same problem. Switched to a Pioneer A06 and Memorex-R and still had the problem. Only by accident did I burn another DVD via DVDA and find the disc played fine on all 3 offending players. So now I'm trying to figure out what settings I need in Nero to make these old players work. Someone suggested using the DVD-ROM option, but I can't yet find that in my Nero. So still unsolved.

As you'll read, there are many variables which can affect playability.

A simple thing to try is burn to a different brand of Media, and also see if it works with a DVD RW.

This is true....and at the same time not true.

In short - you have to check the compatibility list for DVD Players. Not all DVD players will play burned DVDs. Check out the compatibility list at www.dvdrhelp.com

I have burned three discs using the same burner the same blank media and the same mepg2 file. However, I've used three different authoring programs:
Sonic DVDit and NeoPlus and DVDA.

The DVDit and NeoPlus have played on everything that I've tried. Panasonic, Sony, RCA. The DVDA seems to play on the really cheap players, but not on the more expensive ones. It will also play on the computer and X-box.

There is something wrong in the software that causes the chapters and titles to get completely mixed up. This is why I believe that some players can't read the index file.
