I bought a mini dv Sony camcorder . I want to transfer the tapes on to dvd's. I captured the video on to Vegas through the dv cable. The quality looks clear on the camcorder screen and on the PC when capturing, but when I make a dvd the quality is distorted.I am using Vegas Movie Studio 6.0 and DVD Architect Studio 3.0 After I captured the video in Vegas I click on Make Movie, send to dvd architect studio, make movie and burn dvd. Is there something I am missing ?
Help please, thanks

How much material (in terms of time) are you trying to put on the DVD? I would probably avoid trying to put more than 80 minutes of material on a DVD.

I have tried it with 5 min., 30 min. I tried capturing using pinnacle, windv and nero. I would think the quality would be clear. Thanks

Can you be more specific about the quality problems you are seeing?

Are you playing the DVD on your PC or on a TV? Is the video jerky or stuttering? Or is the the video smooth, but just not sharp? Does it look okay when there's no motion, and just look blurry when there's movment? Is the audio okay? Etc.

While playing it on the TV. Video is smooth, PICTURE IS NOT SHARP. Audio is fine. It is quite possible that this is the best It can be but I was expecting it to look like it does on the screen of the camcorder. I have a hitachi rear projection tv and the picture was always sharper watching a dvd compared to tv reception. I hope I explained myself. Thank-you

Are you sure you are rendering to MPEG 2 and not MPEG 1?
