Probably referes to the type of coating, dye used in the various layers. DVD and CD discs are made up of several layers. Find a brand or two that works with your hardware and stick with it. Like with ketchup, there's more to it then just being a thick red tomato sauce with vinegar and spices. There's a reason Heinz is rated number one and is almost always the only brand you see in resturants. More people prefer the taste. Some DVD players refuse to work properly with different media brands. Most due to reflectivity issues. While some DVD players may work OK with no name brands, are you sure they will play 5, 10 or 20 years from now? Of course there is no guarantee a name brand will play either, but I'll wagger the little extra cost goes into a better made and quality tested product. I hope so anyway. <wink>
I want one that works with ALL dvd players NOW and in the FUTURE! Yeah right... But seriously, does one color combination have a better chance at being "more" compatible than others? I guess I just need to get a couple of different ones and try them out.
Purple and green ketchup, that's uncivilized! I tried vanilla coke the other day, not bad, but did have a fairly strong aftertaste. Pepsi is coming out with a blue colored variety of their cola to add a berry taste. What I'm still looking for is those new Nabisco chocolate chip cookies with cream in the middle like a Oreo. I see the commericals, can't find it in the stores yet. All this ketchup talk made me hungry, justed ordered a pizza.
You guys are all wrong. Once you achieve a certain, ahem, maturity, you find that horseradish is the elixir of the gods.
Oh, and about DVD-R compatibility, quickly get a copy of the current "DV Magazine" before the next issue comes out. There is a nice article on DVD compatibility, brands, and such.
