Seems like several deeper questions recently about the finer points of DVD, beyond what you can do in DVD-A and other lower priced authoring programs. As I said in another thread tonight one way to get your feet wet is snoop in a already burned DVD and see what's in the files. This process involves more than looking at the file in Windows Explorer. Again, you need special tools and mostly they are pretty geeky meaning command line stuff like:
vstrip f:\video_ts\vts_02_1.vob -if:\video_ts\vts_02_0.ifo"
If you still want to play, go for it. Get Vstrip or some similar tool.
Now if you just want to learn this is good, however I wonder about the name since the MPEG-2 guys are pretty uptight about keeping the specs on the high shelf, meaning they cost $$$$$$$$$$$$, but still basic questions, seems as good or bad as any other DVD FAQ I've seen, and I've been looking and looking...

The Doom9.org site has some goodies too. Some of it gets pretty technical.
