DVD versus SVCD

Possibly - it depends on the material and how picky you are. Here's a web site that lists the technical differences between the formats:

IF you use the same material for both, and render at the highest quality for each format, then yes, there will be a big difference. The DVD will be much better quality. And a DVD is more universal than SVCD. Not all DVD players can play SVCD discs.

Thats exactly what I wanted to hear..... i was hoping the quality would be better. i was never impressed with SVCD's. However my limitation may be with my camcorder.
