DVD will not play past Main Menu

I'm a first time user of Vegas and DVD Architect - so bear with me. I recently rendered a movie in Vegas and sent it to DVD Architect. DVD Architect added a default Main Menu and one submenu - which is the actual Video. In DVD Architect, I can navigate from the main Menu to the Video Sub Menu and play/view the video. However, when I burn the video to DVD and attempt to play the DVD in my DVD player, all that appears on my TV are the words "Main Menu". There is no sub-menu and no way to navigate using the DVD player controls. I've tried burning the DVD three times and have also used two different makes/models of players with the same result. Any ideas? I don't really even want/need a menu, only a way to get my video onto a DVD that will play.

This is a home video project for the Grandparents (Xmas present) so I'm really getting desperate. Any help is appreciated!!

If you don't even want a menu, then go to File -> New, and choose Single Movie. You'll get a dialog box to choose a video to have on your DVD. Done.

No luck. I saved the file to my hard drive via Vegas (as a .avi file) and then created a new, single movie project in DVD Architect. I then previewed the movie in DVDA and everything worked fine (no menu, movie played, etc.). However, when I went to burn the DVD I came out with the same result.

One thing I did notice this time was that the status bar for the burn only made it to @ 28% complete and then ejected the DVD and generated a pop-up that indicated the burn was completed successfully. I'm wondering if there is actually a problem with the burn itself. I have a Dell DVD+R burner and am using DVD+R blank DVDs. Any other thoughts?

Sounds like some kind of hardware issue, can your burner burn -R media, might be worth a go if it will as they're generally considered to be more compatible.

Can you play the burnt DVD in the PC?
