DVD with Data file...possible??

I'm doing a photo montage for a friend and am going to put it on a DVD.

I was wondering if DVD architect has an option to also add Data files that can be opened on a PC?

I want to have the montage...about 24 minutes...and also have the individual picture files on the same DVD.

In other words.

Put the DVD in a standard DVD player to play the movie...then..put the same DVD in your PC to view folders with the Pic files in them.

Is this possible??

Thanks for the help.

With DVDA 3.0, not with any earlier versions. However, you can burn a hybrid DVD using other software like Nero or CopyToDVD - just use DVDA to prepare things and then the other software to do the actual burn of the DVD files and the additional data files.

Please provide the steps or tutorial for achieving said task.

Thanks in advance,

Just out of curiosity - what part of the manual or help documentation for whichever product you are using, are you finding unclear?

I do this on virtually every DVD I create.

You can do it in DVDA 3, and the manual provides pretty clear explanations. However, DVDA 3 is rather limited in that you can only have one single data directory, and also all the files are actually copied to the "prepare" location rather than simply having a reference made to the file. This not only slows down the prepare, but also can lead to problems should you want to alter one of those photo files, because now you have two copies. Which one should you alter?

Thus, I almost always use Nero. What I do is "Prepare" the DVD in DVDA 3, and then use Nero to start a "DVD Video" project. I add the files from the DVDA 3 "VIDEO_TS" directory to the that same-named directory in the Nero project. I then create other directories (a.k.a. folders) into which I put whatever data files I want to include. Whatever you do, do NOT put any data files or folders into the VIDEO_TS or AUDIO_TS folders. Your DVD player will not like you if you do this.

I've discoverd that while DVDA3 can only be directed to one data directory (folder), it doesn't copy that directory/folder to the dvd but does copy any number of folders and files within that data directory. Just create a folder called 'Extras' for example, then place within it all the files/folders you want copied to the dvd.
