DVD won't burn on DVD Architect

I have had multiple problems attempting to burn a 30-minute video to a DVD. At first, I dubbed the movie to my Panasonic DVD recorder, imported the events to Movie Study, edited and attempted to burn a DVD. Nothing worked when I exported it to DVD Architect. It stated it had successfully burned--but would not play either on the computer or the DVD recorder.

After many frustrating hours, I finally called Cox technical assistance. They had me save the file with an extension: ".m2v" This worked!

However, after recording my next video, I saved it with an ".m2v" extension and it refused to work. The only differences between the first successful video and this one is that I recorded it on wide screen and I imported it directly from tape to software (instead of the DVD recorder). I suspect neither of these changes should make a difference

I have tried recording with an ".mpg" extension also. In both cases, the video now has another extension ".vf" immediately following the extension I chose (that is, "Worship 8-6-06.m2v.vf" or "Worship 8-6-06.mpg.vf").

I have rendered the video and saved the video in these formats, exported to DVD Architect Studio and all I get is a black screen.

Any assistance you can give is appreciated.

Rev. Harry Rix

Please note: I could not locate the video or sound card information, but I paid additional money to get an advanced video card and have never had a problem with sound.
