dvda 3.0 project wont play on older

I've tried using both my 3.0 and 1.0 versions of dvd-a and on my samsung combo and my cheapy home theatre system my latest project will not play.
It WILL play on a cheap combo dvd-TV that was purchased for Christmas2005.

I've tried lowering the bitrate to 3.9Msomething from the 8M on a 38 minute video/music (of a church choir) and THAT still didn't help.

I've always used the ntsc dvd setting in vegas 3.0 and 6.0 to render so I hope someone can see why I'm confused.
I haven't changed hardware or O/S other than the usual critical updates from Microsoft. I've done several projects with both 3.0 and 6.0 renders of Vegas and used dvda 1.0 mostly.

Any ideas???? Please let me know as I have 3 projects (one of which is relative's wedding from October with 3 camera angles) that need finishing asap.
Thanks! to All!!!

did you switch to different media? Do the other projects still play? Have you tried burning a different older project to see if it plays?

I think the current estimate is that about 10% of the STB's currently in use by consumers will not play burned media - basically anything more than 4 or 5 years old should be avoided.

The real question is did these players you are testing against previously play burned media? If so, then I'd start looking at your media. Did you switch from -R to +R (fewer players will play +R then -R unless you burned the +R with a DVD-ROM booktype)?
