DVDA 4.5 won't read old .dar files

I tried opening a .dar file that I made with a previous version of DVDA and I get a pop up with a picture of DVD Movie Studio with some text saying that the project format (or something) isn't supported, offering for me to "buy now" or "close". Meanwhile...I bought this a few weeks ago but haven't used it lately, but when I go to the about pop up, it sees my serial number and machine ID. What gives?

Is it possible you're trying to open a DVD Architect (Pro) file with DVD Architect Studio? No matter what versions you're dealing with, DVD Architect Studio has never been able to open DVD Architect (Pro) files.

Oh crap, you're right. I had been borrowing a friends copy of DVDA and finally just purchased my own version, but I didn't realize there was a studio and pro version. Besides the icon logo, I didn't notice a difference. Is there much of a difference?
