Can someone tell me how to set up the button properties so that the program will return to the chapter selection menu when the current selection has finished?
Thank you
Kent
I don't think Architect Studio can do that. You are talking about DVDAS 4.5c, correct?
If so, you can only control End Action in Media properties, not Button properties.
However, as a workaround, you could probably split up your video into smaller files so the buttons you want to return to the menu have their own media (destination).
Yes It is DVDAS 4.5c
And you are correct, it should be the media properties, not button properties. However,
I don't understand your workaround at all. All I want to happen is for the program to return to the chapter selection menu at the end of each sequence. I have tried various settings of the "End Action" items but all that ever happens is that the program just continues on to the next segment. Unfortunately, I can't seem to locate any reference to media properties in any of the manuals that I have. I have submitted a question to SCS, so we will see what they come up with.
What this program needs is a "Missing Manual"...
Thanks, Kent
All I want to happen is for the program to return to the chapter selection menu at the end of each sequence.
I don't think that can be done in VMS as it stands.
As for my work around.... In VMS, render each "chapter" as its own file. In DVDAS, add all of the files (chapters) into the project. The end action for each file/chapter (or segment as you said) would be "Most Recent Menu". Each button's destination would be the corresponding file/chapter. When you play the dvd and select a chapter from the menu, it goes to that particular file, plays it then returns to the menu.
Great. Now I understand. I will give that a try.
Have you ever seen anything in a manual that describes those settings in detail?
I have two printed manuals and at least four downloaded versions but I can' seem to locate a description of those settings.
Here's the reply I got from SCS
"Thank you for contacting Sony Creative Software. To do this, please double-click the video so that you are focused on the video. Now you will see Media properties on the right-hand side. Under Media properties, click the End Action tab. For Command, it should say Link. For Destination, you'll want to choose the desired file or menu. In this case, it sounds like you'll want to choose the Scene selection menu."
However that still does not work for me. I am going to do the project over and instead of using markers generated in Movie Studio, I will make each chapter a separate piece of video and see if that makes it work.
