DVDA 5

Hello,

I'm deliberating about upgrading to DVDA 5; I installed the trial version of Vegas 9 and I got a blue-screen when using it; I don't want to mess with V9 on this machine again. When I replace or upgrade my PC for HD work, I’ll use V9 at that point. As I am unable to purchase DVDA 5 separately, I am wondering if upgrading to the bundle would make sense exclusively for the DVDA 5 features verses what I now have in DVDA version 2.

I am looking to create a very user friendly menu for an exercise DVD upon which I’m working. I’d like to offer the viewer the option to view each of over 40 separate instructional segments individually, with the possibility of a “loop feature.” The loop feature would give the viewer the ability to re-watch specific segments repeatedly without the necessity of using the player’s remote each view.

Below is a link to 2 images which should serve as a crude schematic for what I’m looking to do:

Can this be accomplished in DVDA5 with or without the “loop function” I’ve described?

Thanks in advance!!

I'm not sure how you'd create a DVD with segments that sometimes loop and sometimes don't. That might more easily be accomplished by programming the DVD player to repeat segments as needed.

Otherwise, I'm sorry you're having problems launching the program. It loaded right up on my machine -- and it's a five year old computer! So it could be an issue on your system or an out of date driver or copy of Quicktime (which is necessary for many video editing functions on your computer).

If you're looking for help getting started with the program, I've got a set of free Basic Training with DVD Architect Studio tutorials at Muvipix.com. Just type DVD Architect in the product search box.

I've also written a book on using DVD Architect, and it's available on Amazon. The book was written for DVD Architect Studio 4.5, but the interface is virtually identical to version 5.0 -- both the Pro and Studio version -- and virtually all of it should be applicable, if you're interested.
