DVDA 5.0 Blu Ray problem MUX_SN_E_IO

TheSeer wrote on 9/8/2011, 1:54 PM
Hi All - I've seen other problems with DVDA 5.0 build 150, none like I'm having. When using "Make Blu-ray Disc", I receive an error messay:

"An error coccurred while preparing compilation"
Details >>
File name: N/A
Status: StatusCodeTable.xml Err Status Code :[MUX_SN_E_IO]

When I used the older build, I got a different message that others had resolved by upgrading. The error occurs whether I select "Prepare" or "Burn". The project is created with Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11.0, with Template "HDV 1080-60i (1440x1080, 29.970 fps), all settings at the tempate default, with full res quality set to Best and Deinterlace set to Interpolate. "Adjust source media to better match project or render settings" is selected.

Any ideas? Thanks!!!

Try rendering using the BluRay template instead of the HDV template.

Hi,

I have this same error!
Status: StatusCodeTable.xml Err Status Code :[MUX_SN_E_IO]

OS - Win7 64bit

I cannot burn or prepare any Blu Rays from DVD Architect 5,0 build 156
I was able to burn a Blue Ray directly from Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11.0.

Any help would be appreciated.

Could be a Net 4.0 upgrade issue. Other users reporting a blu ray buring issue over at creativecow.com and found the Net 4.0 was the cause.

I started off with the Missing Message Error, spent hours goofing around with the net framework crap uninstalling and reinstalling DVD A 5 several times, Finally after reading some tips on a site not related to Sony, I was able to get rid of that error, Thought I was in good shape and then the Mux_SN_E_IO error starts showing up. Have not had any luck finding help. Why hasn't sony addressed this issue or at least answered some questions asked. It would seem their support team is very slack. I have been trying all possible options and keep getting the error. I spent nearly 36 hours rendering the same video in various HD formats and still have no Blu-Ray to show for it. Getting a bit frustrated. There should be help from Sony but there is not. This is supposed to be easy. But it is a total pain so far.

VidGuy67, I just experienced the exact same problem. I am trying to render and burn a 20gb project with multiple videos and menus. Three times now DVD Architect has gotten part way through the rendering, and then comes up with the same error message you are getting.

If I come up with an answer I will contact you. Please do the same.

I am experiencing the exact same problem too. The same file made in dvd format iso works but in blu ray gives me the error. Uninstalled Net 4.0 to try that. no luck.
mrclownprince wrote on 12/14/2011, 4:26 PM
also tried making a bluray with just video or just audio and came into the same error
Devonian wrote on 12/24/2011, 8:28 AM
I have the same problem but also I can't see how to burn BlueRay to DVD.
Every time I try to do this with a dvd in the drive it asks me to insert a blank BlueRay disk and refuses to continue. I've tried pre-rendering but always hit the same brick wall.
Am I missing something? If I select DVD I can only burn standard definition and if I select BlueRay 1920x1080 50i it comes to a dead end.

The error :-
Status: StatusCodeTable.xml Err Status Code :[MUX_SN_E_IO] error
comes after 15 or 20 minutes of trying to render to file.

The first build of DVDAS 5.0 allowed burning HD to DVD, but this feature was later removed. When the feature was available the discs were not fully compatible with all AVCHD-enabled players, which may be why it was removed.
Devonian wrote on 12/24/2011, 10:24 AM
Strange, I would have thought that the answer would be to make the disk compatible but Sony works in mysterious ways. The help file still says that it can be done.

If the MUX problem is solved I will try burning from the image file using ImgBurn.

At the moment Sony seem to have achieved the impossible by making Vegas less reliable than Windows.

I just purchased Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum Version 11 (Build 283) and am having this same error message when trying to create a Blu Ray with DVD Architect Studio 5 (build 157).

An error occurred while preparing compilation
File name: N/A
Status: StatusCodeTable.xml Err Status Code :[MUX_SN_E_IO]

I sent an e-mail to Sony Technical Support but have not heard from them yet.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

Windows 7 Pro 64 bit (Service Pack 1) i7 CPU 930 - 2.80GHz, 6GB RAM

Thanks

I sent a tech about this over a month ago too and havn't had any information on how to fix it. Just installed DVDA 5.0 onto a fresh windows 7 64bit install. it has important updates installed only. Gave an unknown error before patching. and then gave the MUX_SN_E_IO error after the patch. So is this to assume that sony shouldn't be advertising this program as bluray capable? or windows 7 compatible?

wondering if everyone else with this error is running windows 7 64bit?

I have made perfect DVDs with DVDA 5.0. Can't even prepare a bluray.

Both the original poster and myself have Win 7 64 bit OS with Nvidea GeForce video cards. I'm wondering if there is a link. Why isn't everyone on this forum having this issue. I can't believe that we're the only Win 7 - 64 bit OS users trying to make Blu-Ray movies.

Also, I read the release notes on the Pro version and found that there is an update to DVD Architect Pro version 5.1 that addresses this exact problem.

So why isn't Sony working on this same issue for Studio users?
mrclownprince wrote on 1/26/2012, 3:02 AM
i dont think it is video card. The desktop I tried it on has a Radeon 4770, (now 6870) both not working. the laptop i tried it on has a Geforce 460. I see the common thing being windows 7 64bit....hmmmm, is yours home premium? both my 7's are home premium. I wonder when that update will come to us non pro users. I can't say i'd be willing to shell out for the pro version unless i had knowledge that it would work. Might try a virtual machine for the testing of different os's. I still think it's a scripting error that something in our system doesn't agree with. Both systems are intel i5's that i have. Sure wish a tech would tell us exactly what the error means, that would make it easier to figure out.
NickDV60 wrote on 1/29/2012, 5:49 PM
I'm using Windows 7 Pro - 64 bit
I can tell you that it is definitely a Studio version problem.
I tried the Pro version and it worked flawlessly. Just make sure to save your project with a different name cause you will not be able to open it with Studio.
I've since un installed the Pro version as I only make home movies every once in a while. (Actually I accumulate my home videos on my hard drive all year long so I can burn just one Blu Ray at the end of the year). So I can wait for an update to Studio. There is no way I'm going to spend that much money on an upgrade that I don't even need.

Just can't believe that Sony is just ignoring my e-mails about their software not working as stated on the packaging. And I'm not going spend more money on phone support for something that only they can fix with an update. Hopefully they'll have it fixed by the time I'm ready to burn another Blu Ray.

Good luck...

Yes, I am running Win 7 x64, Home Premium and getting the same problem.
kellyjdrummer wrote on 2/15/2012, 3:45 PM
Maybe so, but in my case it's in DVD Arch. They just responded to my last response today and asked for my Install Logs. The last folder screen capture I sent to them was missing more files than the one they were looking for. It may be a faulty or missing script in the install package. Believe me, if and when this is resolved, I am going to spread the word of the solution as far as I can. There are many people having this problem. This is not the only forum I am on with other users and this issue.

I just ordered the Vegas Pro package last night and should see it tomorrow.

Nick, you may be the next email that they answer. Actually, when I see the next correspondence from them, I will ask if there are other users they are dealing with.

Later,
Kelly J.

Nick, would you like me to forward my messages to you? I have received "Clean un/reinstall instructions" and am done with the clean up and now ready for a new install from the web. I don't know if it will work but I am going to do it.

Let me know and I'll send you what I have received.

Kelly J.

PS. Go to http://www.photo-fix.com/ and email me from the link on the front page so we don't clutter this thread.

I have a solution for this issue. I just went through it and successfully created an .iso image as well as burned to a BD.
Heres a link to the instructions. This will require a full uninstall of all SONY software as well as deleting registry keys. If you do not feel comfortable with this, have a proficient computer user do it for you. If you decide to continue with this solution, just take it slowly. It worked for me, so I know it is a practical solution.

Kelly,

I'm having the same problem that you were having...but your solution did not fix this problem for me.

I had another boot drive in my machine that was a clean Win7Pro64 install, with all windows updates done...no virus software, and never had any sony software installed on it.

So I installed Vegas fresh on that drive and applied the update to build 157. Opened my little 30 second long test template with a simple menu. It renders, then gives exactly the same error as your screenshot shows.

I'm really pretty pissed! I've spend about 2 months working on a movie for BD, then spent about 9 hours rendering to get the "file missing" error. Then finally found that to fix this you mush patch to build 157...spent another 9 hours rendering to then get the same error as you. Then tried every single "fix" that I could find on here...no go!

I can't believe Sony! Really guys, come on...GET THIS FIXED!

So this is costing me money...and not just the money I spent on this coaster that has Sony's name on it. To think of how many thousands of dollars I have spend on cameras and equipment with Sony's name as well...makes me sick! And, it makes me think seriously about buying equipment with a different name from now on.

Anyway...thanks for digging into this, unfortunately it didn't seem to fix the issue for me.

juju151, read my above post. The link close to the end will take you to the solution. You may have missed a step or something. It works. I did exactly what it says and have had joy and bliss since then.

Here, if you can't get it to work, email me at kelly@photo-fix.com with "[MUX_SN_E_IO] from juju151" as the subject line and I will help you. I can create a video "how to" for you if you want it. I have a YouTube page that I post tutorials to often, and I am considering doing this one. If I do, I will post the links to as many forums as I can find that I see this issue as a thread starter.

Here's the link again. https://www.custcenter.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4844 Hey, the tags worked this time.

I'm having the exact same problem! I tried to follow the clean uninstall/install guide, but it didn't solve my problem :( I also reinstalled the build 157, is it this build that is causing this issue? I've tried everything, now! Isn't there any solution? I really hope that this problem could be solved since I got some Blu-ray discs to burn :/
kellyjdrummer wrote on 4/26/2012, 8:59 AM
Too bad. I did this back in February and have had no issues what-so-ever since then. I was actually directed to the solution directly from a SONY tech through Email with SONY Support.

I'll give it a try, once more.
