DVDA 5 animated thumnail problem

I think I ran into this problem years ago with DVDA 1.0, but I can't for the life of me figure out what caused it.

Made two projects in DVDA 5. First one was basically the same as the second.

1. Menu based DVD.

2. Insert Media

3. Mark chapters

4. Insert Scene Selection Menu
(10 scenes in the first project, 11 in the second.)

--------------

In the first project each thumbnail showed the beginning of each scene and I was able to animate each of them and fine adjust the start point with the slider as normal. Set loop length, etc.

In the second project I thought I did the same thing as usual but this time all the thumbnails showed only the first scene not their respective scenes and none of the sliders would move the thumbnail animation past the first 20 seconds or so of that same first scene.
The sliders for each thumbnail just made that same first 20 seconds of that first scene loop over and over again as I slid it.

Mind you, the links were in tact. Clicking on each of the thumbnails brought you to the proper scene during the preview. It's just the animated thumbnails that would only show the first 20 seconds of only the first scene for each and every thumbnail.

I know I made this same mistake once before, but I can't for the life of me figure out what I did on that second DVD menu.

Anyone know?

Thanks,

John

FOLLOW-UP: I highlighted each thumbnail and under style I clicked still instead of animate and the thumbnail displayed the correct image. Switched back to animate and it went right back to scene 1 for every thumbnail.

I resolved this problem so I though I would post my findings.

I thought I did them both the same, but after checking the History I did something different on the affected project.

Instead of:

1. Insert Media
2. Assign chapter markers
3. Insert Scene Selection Menu

What I did was:

1. Insert Media
2. Add menu video and audio
3. Assign Chapter Markers
4. Insert Scene Selection Menu

I placed a video clip onto the Image and Text button (PLAY BUTTON) as I often do and then assign a matching AC3 audio file to the background. It works fine, but if you don't Insert Scene Selection Menu first, you end up with all the scenes on page two with the same animated clip and it cannot be corrected.

I ended up starting over from scratch and it all worked perfectly after following the "normal" procedure of Inserting the Scene Selection Menu right after you assign the chapter markers.

To see if it was only DVDA 5.0 I tried it with DVDA 1.0 and it exhibited the exact same problem.

Now, I didn't check it with Mpeg 2 video rendered from Vegas as a DVDA Video stream with chapter markers assigned from Vegas. I use Procoder and frame serve from Vegas to Procoder to make the Mpeg 2 video stream and render the AC3 audio only stream from Vegas. Put them in the same folder with the same name and open a DVDA project. I am not sure if that makes a difference.

However, if I can reproduce this problem in both DVDA 1.0 and DVDA 5.0, I would think the problem also exists in all versions in between as well.
