DVDA 6 Pro blu-ray prepare reports menu's unreachable

bradf wrote on 11/24/2016, 4:55 PM

When I go to prep my project which has several media's and menu's to it it reports with yellow exclamation that my media and menu is unreachable. It doesn't stop the actual prep. I was wondering is this just a glitch or will my project fail?

I had to previously replace my boot drive with a new SSD the old mechanical died. So I had to re-install everything. Since then my projects have been reporting these messages. I have checked the paths and they are all fine.

Is there something I can do to clear them without a complete remake?

So we can assume that all of your DVD assets are in their original locations? Including any menus you created.

The preview is working fine?
Did you tried to save it new?

Yes, everything is on a separate drive. Nothing has been moved. Usually if I do that anyway I get a search for replacement media upon opening up project. I've checked all the menus and paths and to avail I can't seem to fix it. I don't want to waste a blu-ray disk to find out either. I don't use cheap disks. I was hoping someone here may have had the same problem.

I have even gone back over the media and replaced with fresh copies. Other than starting over (?) Which I would really hate to do as I have over 50 hours of work invested in the project.

I always test on a re-writable disk. Better than wasting a disk. I would try that and see what you get.

Good idea would be nice to have a few re-writables around anyway.

You don't need to waste a disk, if you select  "Prepare" it will write an iso file
What i don't understand is, when the preview is ok (incl menu) what is the problem?
Normaly there is a message of missing files

Maybe there is a problem with the rights, so you have no access
Try to copy the project files on your pc drive

Beats me, I don't have a clue if either it will be ok or not never ran into this. But I will have it do an iso so that I can verify one way or another. It shouldn't be a rights thingy, since the media is of a family picnic we had in August and now just getting around to make a complete video of it. I have about 20 family members bugging me to get it done for xmas.

Not the rights of the files, maybe a change in the rights of DVDA at your external drive because of the drive replacement.
That's why i suggested to copy the files on your SSD
