DVDA Burning Crash Error 0x8004e0c8 (message missing)

I have Sager laptop with Toshiba SD-R6012 DVD/CD RW combo drive.

When I tryo to burn my movies to DVD I get the error message shown in the title of this post.

I can burn audio CD's and DVD's with Nero.

Just recently DVDA was working perfectly and worked alongside Nero.

There have been other posts about this problem from other users, but there are no satisfactory solutions. Even the Sony reply said "to uninstall all other DVD burning programs"

There must be a better solution, especially since it was working great on my laptop before.

Can anyone help?

Lastly, I have all other programs that access the DVD/CD turned off, virusscan off, firewall off, screen saver off, and I'm getting ****** off !

Please post a reply - as quickly as you can - Thanks.

"Just recently DVDA was working perfectly...."

What on your system changed between the time DVDA was working perfectly and now? Any new apps installed? Any updates installed? Any HW changes? New type of DVD media? Has this particular DVDA project ever been taken all the way through to DVD?

I believe the only thing new is updating DVDA to Version 1.0d (build 230)

No new apps installed, no HW changes, same DVD media, YES I have been able to take projects all the way to completion.

I just caught this reply and hope you can continue to help.

I was just about to uninstall DVDA and reinstall an older version 1.0c from the original CD disk. The older version worked flawlessly.

What do you suggest?

One more interesting thing !!!

I have just re-installed DVDA version 1.0b (not 1.0c as in earlier post)

I can still not burn the DVD with DVDA.......But.........

I can create menus based DVD's with with themes, interactive objetcs, etc, and then "prepare" the video (IFO, VOB files and so forth)

Then I just used Nero to burn the DVD from the video files.

It worked, and the DVDA interactive menus, etc work perfectly.

So why can DVDA not burn the disk when Nero can ?

My version of nero is Nero Express OEM 5.5.10.12

Can anyone please help me with this?

I tried just about everything i can think of other then refomatting my HD and doing a complete re-install !!!

At least I think this will get rid of the incompatibility in my system - I think.

Please help me if you can.
