DVDA Crashes

ll600 wrote on 8/17/2006, 7:37 AM
Hi,

If I open DVD Architect 3.0c and push the "Make DVD" button on the toolbar, the program crashes. I don't know why, and tried reinstalling the 3c update, but nothing happens.

I went to the tech support page for email support but the page is a broken link.

Any ideas?

Here is the message I receive,

seems the whole custcenter.com site is down. Wierd.

anyway, did you try making a new dvd with nothing but 1 video or a button? The error report isn't saying anything's wrong except a divied by zero. try a new dvd & see if that works. Maybe there's a glitch in the dvd you're trying to make.

unless you're doing this w/o making anything.

Yes, you got it - I just open the program, press the "make dvd" button on the toolbar and it crashes.

I did a quick search of the Sony forums for "sfcd.cdd" and found a few hits. Most implicated various drivers. Click "Search" and see if anything sounds promising to you.

the only driver issues i've seen with "make dvd" have been when burning. he can't even get that option. :? wouldn't rule it out though.

have you tried throwing anything on the screen to see what happens then?

Yes. For example, if I drag a file onto a new project, it seems to be fine. But once I press the Make DVD button, it crashes.

Thanks all.

I've had the same problem.

Sony Media Support tells me that there's a "known issue" with Blu-Ray Optical drive in my Vaio and to "keep checking the updates site".

I have the exact same problem. I have been talking to tech support but they haven't been able to solve it. I am very frustrated.

Try installing the Blu-ray drive firmware update v.1.04. It solved the problem with my Matsushita BD-MLT UJ210S Blu-ray drive using DVDA 3 Studio v.3.0b (Build 93).
