Since thes may not make it into the final 1.0 release (but I can hope), here are some suggestions for the next release.
1. Intro video for menus. Say you clicked on a button on a menu that takes you to another menu .. it would be nice to be able to have it play a short video before displaying the menu you selected. For example, you clicked on a button to show a menu of clips from the Indy 500. When you clicked the button, a video of a checkered flag waveing transistions you to the menu.
2. The ability to change the color of the button text when it was selected and NOT the image for that button. Button text highliting only. (This seems so simple that perhaps I am just missing it in the current beta).
3. The ability to have buttons go to specific menus and not just backward and forward. If your 3 or 4 levels deep in a menu, it would be nice to be able to back to the main menu, or to a specific menu from anywhere.
4. Buttons that do not get included in the "tab" order. For thoes "special hidden video segments" (e.g., easter eggs .. you have to know exactly where to click).
5. This mayby a version 3 thing, but lets hope it dosent take too long. Manufactures are now coming out with DVD players that will play DVD's encoded on WM9 and not just MPEG. Whould be cool to be able to specify that you want to encode the DVD for WM9 playback.
I'll have more later.. I am very impressed by what the beta has already .. creating a good menu system for a DVD used to be a pain.. DVDA is well on the way to giving the others a run for thier money.
